Three Poems by Kass Garced

Mirror

My pride has been shattered
Like the glass that is in my
Skin,
The diffused sorrow
Within my
Scars

You’re running me dry

I am washed away by the
Dust
Of the desert,
The grains on my fingertips
Seep through
My Body.
I'm preserving my pride
In the little dollhouse
We used to call home,
And I miss the view of your
Silhouette
While the windows shine
All over me.
I feel the draft.
I am preserving my compassion
Within the inner workings of our
Magic,
That has withered away
With my
Dignity

My pillow eats my thoughts

Dreaming of
You,
Warmth I have not felt in
Years.
I pause—
And then for a moment
I
Remember
